Doorbell configuration in FW 4.7+

2N® Indoor Touch 2.0 firmware version 4.7 introduced new doorbell features that allow you to better control the inputs and outputs of the device. These include the option to choose whether you want to activate outputs automatically upon incoming call/ringing or manually when an input is triggered. Both outputs can be assigned to either input.

  • 2N® Indoor Touch 2.0
  • 2N® IP Mobile (Intercoms) app (Called Intercoms in the unit)
  • Doorbell button
  • 2-wire cable(s)

Wiring

The wiring below will allow the 2N® Indoor Touch 2.0 to react to a doorbell connected to Input 1 and trigger Output 1 if desired. You may also utilize the other input and output.

Configuration

Inputs and outputs

Configuration of such scenario is quite easy as you can see in the image below. It shows that Input 1 is enabled, and Output 1 may be triggered upon its activation. We also named both Input 1 and Output 1 as Gate Entrance because they’re both linked to it. You may configure this either from the web interface or from the 2N® IP Mobile (Intercoms) app’s Settings>Input and Output section.

There’s also an option to activate outputs automatically once the 2N® Indoor Touch 2.0 starts ringing – either because of doorbell or incoming call. This can be set up by selecting the Incoming call notification option.

If you’d like to utilize both outputs when an input is activated, you may enable both outputs, select your preferred activation method for each output, and assign them to the input of your choice if you opt for the Activation option at incoming call option. Example of such configuration is shown below:

Ringtone

If you’d like to try a different doorbell ringtone you may select it here.

Do Not Disturb, DND

Both inputs and outputs can also be configured to ignore DND if desired. Once either of these DND settings is enabled, inputs or outputs may be activated as if DND wasn’t active.

How to connect bell button to the 2N® Indoor Touch 2.0

2N® Indoor Touch 2.0 contains, on the opposite site, ports to connect bell button directly to the device. As you can see in the picture (1), there are IN1, IN1/OUT1, IN2, IN2/OUT2, DC12+ etc.

3) Select the desired input for the door bell button. In our case we have to setup the interface for GPI1.

4) Inverted/ Non-inverted Input – In this section it is possible to change the logic of the button. GPI1,2 are by default in logical 1.

    • Non-inverted Input – The application is not ringing once the button is pressed. Once you release the button the application starts to ring. The time for ringing is defined in section Maximal ringing time.

    • Inverted Input –  Application is ringing during the time you are holding the button. If you only press the button, the application will be ringing minimal ringing time. You can set up the value of the minimal ringing time in the application- Section Minimal ringing time.
